Position Summary

KSM’s Information Technology Services Group (ITSG) delivers a modern, strategy-led approach to IT—combining vCIO leadership, managed intelligence services, AI-first operations, and modernization expertise to help clients transform, secure, and future-proof their technology environment.

The Senior Manager of Business Development – IT Services Group will drive growth across these service lines by identifying new opportunities, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships across SMB and mid-market organizations, and strategic influencers.

This role requires a seasoned business development professional with deep understanding of the IT services ecosystem—including managed services, cloud modernization, cybersecurity frameworks, AI/automation adoption, and strategic IT leadership models. The Senior Manager will report to the Chief Growth Officer and collaborate closely with ITSG leadership to shape go-to-market plans, refine offerings, and accelerate revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and ITSG leadership to design and execute a comprehensive growth strategy across vCIO, Managed Intelligence, AI-First Operations, and Modernization services.

  • Identify and target prospective clients including SMB/mid-market companies, PE-backed organizations, and executive IT leaders seeking modernization, governance, and operational transformation.

  • Use industry, competitive, and market intelligence to pinpoint emerging opportunities and refine service positioning.

Relationship Development & Market Presence

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, COOs, technology partners, software vendors, and ecosystem influencers.

  • Represent KSM and the Information Technology Services Group at key industry events, conferences, and technology leadership forums.

  • Curate and evaluate event participation strategies to maximize visibility, lead generation, and partnership expansion.

Service Alignment & Collaboration

  • Work closely with vCIO, engineering, automation, data platform, and modernization teams to align business development initiatives with capabilities and client needs.

  • Translate the ITSG value proposition—including automation-first operations, standards-based alignment (CIS/NIST), and modernization blueprints—into compelling client messaging and proposals.

  • Support go-to-market evolution as KSM expands strategic IT offerings and embedded AI capabilities.

Thought Leadership & Brand Amplification

  • Partner with the Marketing Growth Advisor to create relevant content that highlights ITSG differentiators such as:

    • vCIO-led strategy and governance

    • Insight-driven IT operations

    • AI-powered workflow automation

    • Cloud and data platform modernization

  • Identify opportunities for ITSG subject-matter experts to speak at conferences, participate in panels, or contribute to industry publications.

Lead Generation & Pipeline Management

  • Leverage LinkedIn and other digital platforms to expand professional networks, identify prospects, strengthen brand presence, and share thought leadership.

  • Build and oversee a healthy pipeline of opportunities; track KPIs and communicate performance to firm leadership.

  • Collaborate in the development of proposals, pitch materials, demos, and client deliverables that clearly articulate business outcomes and strategic impact.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, consulting, managed services, or technology advisory roles.

Technical & Industry Expertise

  • Understanding of IT leadership frameworks (CIO/vCIO), IT governance, cloud modernization, data platforms, cybersecurity standards (CIS/NIST), and AI/automation adoption.

  • Familiarity with managed services, digital transformation, and modernization initiatives within SMB and mid-market environments.

  • Experience selling or supporting IT services—including strategy, managed operations, automation, or cloud/data engineering—is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to develop and execute business development strategies that drive measurable revenue growth.

  • Strong relationship-builder with executive presence and comfort navigating senior-level conversations.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills—able to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret market signals, assess opportunities, and shape service strategies.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and market development activities.
