This co-op position is an opportunity to work in the research and development team of a leading photonics & fibre optics company. Dive into data analysis, algorithm development, and the optimization of photonic modules.

What You Will Learn:

  • Engage with advanced technologies like LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon), MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), phase modulators, and other free-space optical assemblies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, hardware, optical design, and verification teams, gaining a comprehensive view of the product development lifecycle
  • Develop critical skills in numerical and statistical analysis, software development, and experimental design validation

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine algorithms that optimize the performance of our next-generation photonic modules
  • Numerical and statistical analysis of small and large data sets to propel product improvements
  • Software development & test engineering
  • Experimental validation of design principles

What You Will Bring to the Position:

  • You are pursuing a degree in Physics, Nanotechnology engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Mathematical-Physics,  Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Most importantly, you will bring your enthusiasm to learn, develop your skills and expand your knowledge
  • Proficiency in software development (experience in Python and VB.Net is a plus, but not required)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
