The Role
We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Financial Services regulatory team in Sydney, on an initial 10 month parental cover contract.
Working closely with Partner Steven Klimt, this is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and experienced lawyer who is keen to undertake both advisory matters and regulatory investigations. You will advise on regulatory issues affecting many leading global and domestic financial institutions and fintechs, across a variety of matters spanning banking and consumer credit, payment systems and products, complex privacy issues, AML and more. This is a diverse practice, where you will have exposure to complex, innovative and cutting edge regulatory work across a broad range of matters.
This market leading team is high-performing yet relaxed and collegiate, and you will have the opportunity to refine your legal skills and enhance your brand working with some of the industry's finest practitioners.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
4-8 years' post qualification experience as a lawyer. In-house candidates will be considered, though some private practice experience is preferred
Excellent academic record
Solid experience with regulated credit financial services law
Strong familiarity with the NCCP Act and Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act
AML/Privacy experience is advantageous
In addition to this, we're looking for a motivated self-starter. Someone who is able to work autonomously with confidence, has excellent attention to detail and is committed to providing outstanding service to their clients.
