As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology solutions and driving the development of cutting-edge software applications. You will lead by example, guiding the development team in designing, developing, testing, and deploying Java-based Microservices applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply broad knowledge and technical know-how in the Software Engineering/Infrastructure domain to deliver the following responsibilities:
Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers. Lead by example, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Technical Excellence: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based Microservices applications, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements for mission-critical systems. Ensure adherence to design principles and best practices. Develop and improve specific technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units. Technology Assessments and Estimation of new features and participate in technical forums to gain and share knowledge.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and defects. Contribute to problem-solving sessions and provide innovative solutions.
Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to propose improvements and innovations. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance development processes.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality software solutions that meet Telstra’s delivery timelines, cost, and quality standards. Collaborate closely with QA engineers to ensure product quality. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
DevOps: You are well versed with DevOps culture having an established experience in development & operations in an automated deployment ecosystem. Your expertise in bridging development and operations is pivotal for seamless software delivery.
Qualifications/experiences
Bachelor or equivalent degree in IT
8+ years of IT industry experience
3+ years of Telecom OSS experience (preferably Amdocs OSS)
Hands on development experience in cloud technologies and microservices based applications.
Good understanding of Fixed, Wireless, mobility business in the Telecom world
Proven experience in designing and developing enterprise grade applications
Experience leading and mentoring technical teams and facilitate software development life cycle
Contribution to developing and maintaining agile continuous integration and delivery processes
Engaging and influencing internal stakeholders such as operations, architects, designers and various business groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
