This role is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.

The Pramerica Services Company of Bermuda is looking to fill a newly created Vice President, Head of Technology and Data role.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver long-term strategic goals and implementation for the company’s captive and associated reinsurance businesses’ data architecture vision and standards with state-of-the-art technologies. Ensuring data strategies and architectures remain in compliance with standards. Providing resolution to complex data related challenges between multiple business entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a data driven end-to-end cloud native reinsurance ecosystem for affiliated reinsurance company.
  • Manage and collaborate with third-party vendors.
  • Oversee 3rd party systems including finance and actuarial systems.
  • Work with stakeholders to solve data-related technical issues and optimize the company’s data and analytics.
  • Provide expertise on data quality and structure decisions as well as broad IT subject matter.
  • Oversee O365 Microsoft Technology Stack and usage.
  • Implement appropriate data strategies for cross border data transfers.

Qualification:

  • 10+ years of experience in the IT project sector. Experience in start-up environments a plus.
  • Deep understanding of cloud native technologies (AWS and Google)
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and implementation
  • Understanding of blockchain concepts
  • Experience with cloud native, API based data architecture and data flow management.
  • Experience with at scale data management and data analytics.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Insurance and/or financial services knowledge desired.
