Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer is part of the patient care team entrusted with the care of patients undergoing echo-cardiographic studies.

Pay Range

Minimum $53.00 Midpoint $53.00 Maximum $54.00

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience with pediatric cardiac echocardiography.

Preferred: Three (3) – five (5) years of pediatric cardiac echocardiography experience.

Education

Required: Graduate of an Echocardiography training program that includes pediatric clinical experience or must have been in a previous pediatric echocardiographer position and holds the registry of RCCS or RDCS-PE.

Training

• Required: None required.

Licensure

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Registered Cardiac Sonographer; Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer fetal echocardiography (RDMS – FE); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS – PE) – required within six (6) months of hire.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Heavy - Very high energy level Lift over 50 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. a distance of 30 feet. Push/pull > 200 lbs. (ie. Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer or max assist sit to stand transfer.
