Bluetooth at Silicon Labs

The Bluetooth product line represents one of the key strategic technologies and fastest growing businesses for Silicon Labs. Bluetooth is not just a standalone technology and business for Silicon Labs but it’s also a key technology part of Silicon Labs’ 802.15.4 and proprietary multi-protocol solutions. The Bluetooth team strives to be at the forefront of Bluetooth, Bluetooth mesh and Direction Finding and Ranging development and deliver first in the world, unique solutions for global tier one customers.

Your role:

As a Software Engineer, you will specify, design, implement, test and document embedded Bluetooth, Bluetooth Mesh and Direction Finding and Ranging software products. You will be a full-time member for an agile team, implementing competitive and high-quality products for the global wireless IoT technology markets.

Your responsibilities:

  •  Participating in an agile team including specifying and designing the features and their software architecture all the way up to the final high-quality deliveries
  •  Making the feature analyses, SW and API designs, prototypes, and feasibility analyses for new features
  •  Implementing the new features with high-class coding conventions
  •  Providing automated testing and different performance test results for the SW
  •  Working with build scripts, continuous integration, developer tools, technical documentation and SDK SW
  •  Providing input to wireless specifications or even participating to actual specification work in Bluetooth SIG working groups
  •  Debugging technically demanding challenges and helping customers to succeed in their business
  •  Providing ideas and innovations for making our products and working methods even more competitive and extraordinary

The skills we will need:

  •  Coursework and/or project experience with SW design 
  •  Very strong and proven C programming knowledge in embedded environments
  •  Good references and evidence of working successfully in embedded wireless/networking software projects and product programs with real commercial value
  • Fluent written and spoken English

We consider the following experience as a plus:

  • Additional design experience with at least some of the following: SW platforms, SW architecture, APIs, embedded systems, wireless, IP, local connectivity technologies, development tools, RF, power management, and microcontrollers
  • Positive attitude towards strong innovation, achievement, continuous technical learning, process-orientation, and quality assurance
  • Existing understanding of Bluetooth and/or mesh technologies is counted as a big benefit
  • Work experience in agile teams according to the respective methodologies is a plus
  • Knowledge and work experience about MATLAB, wireless digital and analog audio, statistical signal processing, digital signal processing and equivalent is counted as a benefit

Education requirements

Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or similar area with software focus.
