Position Overview
This position will serve as a Researcher for the shared Campus Chemical Instrument Center (CCIC) Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics (MSP) facility at The Ohio State University. The MSP facility houses state-of-the-art instrumentation including an Orbitrap Eclipse, an Orbitrap Fusion, an Exploris 480, two QExactive plus instruments, Q Exactive UHMR, a timsTOF Pro, timsTOF Flex, Agilent 6495D, and a 15T FT-ICR MS.
Under the center’s leadership and direction, the individual in this role will independently lead their assigned research initiatives. The Researcher will coordinate and conduct scientific research involving various projects in the areas of mass spectrometry-based imaging, along with complementary proteomics, and metabolomics studies. The individual will participate in:
The Researcher will train, advise, and actively assist research efforts of CCIC MSP researchers/users, including graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, on the use of mass spectrometers, data processing, and analysis of proteomics MS data.
Additionally, the Researcher will:
Furthermore, this position will assist with mass spectrometer maintenance, scheduling, and monthly billing with other CCIC MSP staff; collaboratively work with CCIC MSP research scientists to achieve the research missions of CCIC MSP; actively promote and ensure a safe, clean, and secure facility; participate as an early responder during any emergency situations in the MSP facility; perform other duties as assigned by CCIC MSP director or associate director/staff leaders.

Salary
This position's assigned pay range is $75,700 - $98,900. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity, the candidate's relevant work experience and qualifications, and the unit's available budget, which is the primary determining factor.
Work Location
This position works on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
