The Opportunity

This position works out of our Arecibo location in the CRM division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Shift: 1st. This is an exempt role.

As a Metrology Supervisor you will supervise the metrology personnel, maintaining daily compliance with established Metrology program policies, guidelines and practices. Individuals shall maintain a safe working environment, support administrative functions, maintain department attendance, monitors performance and reports status to management. Individuals provide regulation compliance recommendations for GMP, FDA, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, ASTM, ANSI and NCSLI. Individuals shall perform outside calibration supplier evaluations, install and maintain equipment, scheduling and history databases. This position shall assist in designing measurement systems for product test and process control. Individuals shall review and approve equipment specifications, calibration procedure based on equipment specifications, using spreadsheets, flow charts, word processing software and programming software. Individuals will review calibration work order documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness, perform data analysis, measurement studies and calibration certificate analysis. Individuals will participate in professional organizations and committees to set the standards and requirements for education, calibration and measurement assurance programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate daily activities of the site Metrology group.
  • Serves as point of contact for engineering support, specification development and liaison to metrology support issues with other departments and facilities. This includes prioritization and assignment of tasks to within the metrology group.
  • Perform root cause analysis on Out-of-Tolerance equipment and assign corrective actions as needed.
  • Guide and develop Metrology department equipment specifications. Review calibration procedures
  • Provide monthly report input and analysis of metrics. Provide calibration planning on production line moves and transfers.
  • Provide support for calibration startup and integration analysis, planning, implementation and support for acquisitions, new plants and remote product transfers.
  • Research, evaluate and implement software programs related to calibration measurement and management. 
  • Support measurement systems across company lines.  
  • Supervise Inter-laboratory comparisons.
  • Plan training or calibration trips to off-site facilities. 
  • Travel by air to remote manufacturing sites to provide training and support.
  • Supervise, optimize the performance of the calibration equipment and systems.
  • Assist and select standards for complex/system calibration procedures based on tolerance accuracy ratios, specifications and measurement uncertainty.  
  • Justify equipment expenditures for capital equipment requests. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Preferred in Metrology.
  • 5+ years of experience in metrology systems and experience in management of personnel. Prior medical device experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of process control equipment, instrumentation, and computerized data acquisition systems.
  • Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485, 17025, 10012 preferred.
  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English). Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead multi-departmental project teams and resolve quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner preferred.
  • Coursework or experience in business management, measurement and personnel management.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.  
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.

The base pay for this position is

$53,300.00 – $106,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
