Discover a world of innovation as a Software Engineer I at Silicon Labs - Boston.  The Matter team at Silicon Labs contributes to the open-source Matter standard and develops the application layer software designed to expedite our customers' time to market. Customers leverage our embedded firmware framework to efficiently create IoT-based wireless devices, ranging from light switches and bulbs to sensors and gateways. Responsibilities  

As a Software Engineer I on the Matter team at Silicon Labs - Boston, you will: 

• Develop embedded software, systems, pipelines and tools for the Matter standard. 

• Plan, design, implement and maintain robust and scalable software. 

• Collaborate with team members through design reviews, code reviews, and informal technical brainstorming and knowledge sharing sessions. 

• Coordinate with other teams such as SQA, Apps (Support) and Project Management to resolve issues. 

• Produce excellent documentation that may be used both inside and outside the company 

Skills You Will Need  

Minimum Qualifications:  

• BS/MS/PhD Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering degree or any other type of related program to embedded software development  

• Proficiency in C/C++ 

• Experience in embedded software development 

• Experience and fundamental understanding of wireless communication protocols such as 15.4, Thread, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z Wave, WiFi  

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:  

• University curriculum studying IoT, embedded systems, embedding coding, and networking 

• Understanding of other embedded languages outside of C/C++ 

• Previous experience developing IoT products or in the semiconductor industry
