About the Role

The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and analyzing compensation programs for sales personnel. Key responsibilities include designing and evaluating sales plans, calculating plan payments, and conducting trend analysis to ensure competitive and effective compensation strategies. This role operates as a developing professional with a solid working knowledge of the discipline and is fully proficient in relevant theories and processes. The role typically follows established guidelines and procedures to resolve issues, works with a moderate level of guidance, and may provide training or mentorship to new colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Commission Calculation: Accurately calculate sales commissions based on established commission plans and sales performance data. Ensure all calculations are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update commission data in the relevant systems. Ensure data integrity and accuracy by conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
  • Data Preparation for Reporting & Analysis Tools: Prepare data in the relevant formats for use in associated reporting tools. Ensure data is accurately formatted and ready for analysis and reporting.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and distribute commission reports to sales teams and management. Provide insights and analysis on commission trends, discrepancies, and potential improvements to commission structures.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of commission calculations. Collaborate with IT and other departments to automate and streamline commission processes.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to commission calculations. Maintain thorough documentation of commission plans, calculations, and any changes to processes.
  • Support and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for commission-related inquiries from sales teams. Provide clear and timely communication regarding commission calculations, policies, and any changes.
  • Sales Operations Support: Any excess capacity will be dedicated to supporting the business with sales operations and other analysis. This includes providing insights, generating reports, and assisting with strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis (e.g. Commissions, Sales, Finance)
  • Candidates with proficiency in commission calculation and familiarity with sales compensation plans will have an advantage
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to prepare and format data for reporting and analysis tools
  • Knowledge of AI utilization to drive process improvement and ability to implement automation solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to handle inquiries and explain commission policies clearly 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to support sales operations and strategic decision-making.
