Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT, has the following opening for a Solution Architect.

Summary of Duties: Progressively design preventative controls and drive increased automation and self-healing capabilities. Help enable support functions to “shift left,” from Infrastructure to the application teams. Serve as liaison to software engineering to help determine containerization strategy. Clear understanding of cloud and container deployment architectures including building cloud-native applications and container orchestration systems. Simplification across the Small Commercial technology stack without adding technical complexity. Champion the adoption of automation capabilities built and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement mindset for the organization. Telecommuting available.

Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study and 5 years of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. In addition, position requires 3 years of experience in each of the following: Designing and implementing robust enterprise level solutions with a broad understanding of traditional and modern software technology frameworks, platforms, vendor software solutions, development tools, and DevOps automation; Designing and implementing containerization technologies; Application Performance and Observability tool use and configuration; Cloud engineering, including experience across public cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), and technologies frequently used for engineering and managing highly-reliable and automated technology environments, including Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure CLI, and CloudFormation; Continuous integration and continuous deployment tools, such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible; Public cloud, hybrid cloud, and container deployment architectures; Working with agile development teams; Cloud Native technologies, such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Containers and Container Orchestration, Docker, and Severless technologies; Designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise workloads to the cloud; Enabling expedient troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause removal in a hybrid cloud environment; Kubernetes; Jenkins; Git; Linux; Shell; Terraform; and Python.

Salary Range: $175,000.00 - $188,040.00 per year.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
