We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Position Overview:

 We’re looking for a hands-on Accountant to own ACS’s day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who can manage the full accounting cycle independently, keep financials accurate and audit-ready, and help implement systems and automation as we grow. You’ll provide leadership with clean, reliable financials and ensure compliance with regulatory and government reporting requirements.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage journal entries and general ledger accuracy.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Manage payroll entries and related reporting.
• Submit sales and use tax filings.
• Prepare internal financial reports and perform basic financial analysis.
• Maintain transaction imports from banking, payroll, and credit cards.
• Implement automation tools and streamline accounting workflows.
• Coordinate with external accounting partners as needed.
• Support compliance requirements, including DFAS-related reporting.
• Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) and contract accounting.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or tech/defense industries.
• Experience managing month-end close independently.
• Strong proficiency with modern accounting software and automation tools.
• Familiarity with payroll, time tracking, and expense platforms.
• Understanding of government/DFAS financial reporting requirements.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and professional discretion.
• Experience with WIP and contract accounting.
• Familiarity with Deltek is a plus.

You’ll Stand Out:

• Experience improving processes and implementing automation in accounting.
• Prior experience in defense or government contracting.
• Familiarity with DFAS or other government financial reporting frameworks
