What You Will Achieve
The Platform Delivery and Operations team, which is part of the Artificial Intelligence, Data and Advanced Analytics (AIDA) organization, provides a comprehensive suite of integrated platform technologies that are core components of Pfizer’s data and analytics ecosystem.
The AIDA platforms are used by teams across Pfizer to harness the potential of big data, machine learning, and interactive analytics – from scientific/clinical to commercial across all Pfizer geographies. The Analytics Platform Engineer will be involved in the solution architecture, design, development, and management of operational analytics platforms.
Technologies that will be used include (but are not limited to) Amazon Web Services (AWS) (data/analytics technologies, Amazon Event Bridge, AWS Lambda, etc..), Graph databases (Neo4J), Spotfire, SAS, R, Tableau, Python, Snowflake, Databricks (Delta lake, Delta Sharing, etc..), Kafka, Spark, DBT, Programming(Python, Java), Pfizer’s container ecosystem (Kubernetes/ Docker / Artifactory).
How You Will Achieve It
Work with implementation leads, technical leads and architects to understand new capability needs based on customer needs.
Contribute to solution engineering for data pipelining, and analytical platform projects
Provide technical oversight for contracted team members that are designing, building, supporting, and maintaining analytic platforms/solutions.
Develop proof of concepts that will demonstrate how capabilities can be engineered.
Act as a key SME for production troubleshooting.
Help develop a set of patterns for using the new capabilities.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree with at five years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with three years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree with eight years of relevant experience; OR Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience; OR 10 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience engineering solutions with data warehouse, data lake, and analytics technologies
Demonstrated experience providing technical oversight of engineering team members
Candidate must demonstrate skills or an aptitude for analysis, problem solving, organization, written communication, and facilitation
Excellent communication skills
Experience engineering systems in the context of a structured software development lifecycle (SDLC/Agile)
Nice-to-Have
Master's degree
Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
Experience with Agile Software Delivery and/or Scrum Master Certification
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, preferably R&D or clinical development
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel
