As a Senior Cloud Engineer in GSK's Commercial Tech business unit, you'll lead the design and implementation of innovative cloud solutions that drive digital transformation in pharmaceutical marketing and sales. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure on Azure, supporting critical business applications and data analytics platforms. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you'll be responsible for guiding architectural decisions, optimizing cloud costs, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your work will directly impact GSK's ability to deliver life-changing medicines to patients worldwide by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our commercial operations.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement complex Azure cloud solutions

  • Lead architectural reviews and approvals for new projects

  • Optimize cloud costs and implement FinOps practices

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

  • Ensure security, scalability, and compliance of cloud infrastructure

Basic Qualifications: 

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with 3+ years focusing on Azure

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates)

  • Deep understanding of FinOps principles and cost optimization techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members and drive the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions
