You will be working within a team who specialise in Environmental Services and Waste Strategy Consultancy. As a Chief Consultant, you will be working within the Nuclear EMEA area of the business and your goal is to support the winning and delivery of numerous projects across the nuclear lifecycle. You will work across New Build, Decommissioning and Disposal, Net Zero, Fusion, Defence and Generation projects, supporting our clients by providing specialist advice, and delivering the environmental and waste management documentation required to demonstrate compliance with the nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions. You will have the opportunity to apply your UK industry knowledge to overseas projects and international clients operating within the industry.

Your Role

  • Technical Leadership: Leading the development, review, and verification of complex nuclear safety & environmental cases, technical reports, and safety/environmental assessments.
  • Strategic Advisory: Providing expert advice on nuclear licensing, permitting and compliance, directly in support of deliverables as well as in shaping client thinking and direction.
  • Business Development: Identifying new business opportunities, managing and developing client relationships, and contributing to the preparation of bids.
  • Mentorship: Coaching and developing junior staff and early-career professionals.
  • Project Management: Overseeing the quality, budget, and timeline of technical projects.

About you

  • Relevant years of experience in the civil or defence nuclear industry.
  • A degree in a relevant STEM subject (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics), with Chartered status (CEng) highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of UK nuclear safety regulations, such as Site Licence Conditions (SLCs), Permit Conditions, Safety Assessment Principles (SAPs), and Technical Assessment Guides (TAGs).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to obtain National Security Vetting (BPSS, SC or DV).

Security clearance
