Autodesk Operations Solutions is building a next-generation cloud platform that connects facility operations, asset management, maintenance, process improvement, and building systems data across the entire building lifecycle. At the center of this vision is Autodesk Tandem, our digital twin platform, enabling customers to transform building and asset data into actionable operational intelligence.
We are expanding our engineering presence in Krakow and are looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer to help shape the future of Autodesk Operations Solutions. This is a high-impact technical leadership role focused on defining architecture, driving platform strategy, and delivering scalable cloud-native services that support mission-critical customer workflows.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Development, you will work across teams and disciplines to influence technical direction, solve complex engineering challenges, and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with design and development.

Responsibilities
Define and drive the technical vision for critical platform services powering Autodesk Operations Solutions.
Lead architecture and design decisions across distributed systems, cloud services, APIs, and data platforms.
Own the end-to-end delivery of major platform initiatives, from technical strategy and system design through implementation and operational excellence.
Design and build scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native services that support high-volume production workloads.
Establish engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices that improve platform quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, and Engineering leaders to align technical investments with business objectives.
Guide teams through complex technical challenges, balancing long-term architecture with near-term delivery goals.
Lead design reviews, provide technical mentorship, and elevate engineering excellence across multiple teams.
Influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries and build alignment among stakeholders.
Contribute hands-on to software development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Champion operational excellence through observability, automation, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement practices.
Partner with global engineering teams across North America and other international locations.
Participate in Agile planning and execution activities while helping teams continuously improve delivery practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale commercial software systems.
Proven experience leading architecture and delivery of complex platform initiatives spanning multiple teams.
Deep expertise in software engineering with strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C++, Java, C#, Go, or similar.
Strong experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
Expertise in API design, service-oriented architectures, and event-driven systems.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Strong understanding of data architecture and database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern software delivery practices.
Ability to contribute across the full stack, including modern web technologies such as React and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability, security, and performance optimization.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building multi-tenant B2B SaaS platforms.
Experience operating large-scale cloud services in production environments.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and cloud observability practices.
Experience building Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
Experience with WebGL, 3D visualization technologies, or digital twin platforms.
Knowledge of facility operations, asset management, AEC, or industrial software domains.
Understanding of simulation technologies, including discrete event simulation.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
