Job Description Summary

               

Responsible for proper matching and processing of documents to assure timely and accurate vendor payments. Summarize and report payment/cost information for plant management through the use of spreadsheets.

Job Description

• Compile and sort accounts payable documents including purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices to substantiate business transactions, as well as maintain files for records retention of such documents.

• Review and code vendor invoices in the computer systems for timely payment terms, appropriate account assignments, GST applications, and withholdings as applicable.

• Interact with vendors, Corporate accounts payable department, purchasing (Corporate and plant), and receiving personnel on all price discrepancies, payment terms, returns for credit, freight charges, and other related items.

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports of Accounts Payable receipts, payments, and accrual activity for use in cost tracking and reporting.

• Processes all invoices and supporting documents for capital construction in progress (CIP), as well as CIP reports and analysis as needed/required.

• Monthly reporting of utility costs such as electricity, natural gas, and waste/garbage disposal.

• Production transactions, uploads and reconciliations, reporting

• Regular bank and mail runs as needed.

• Other duties may be assigned as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school education, plus one year of college level business school OR applicable experience.

• One to two years experience in a Finance/Accounting office with application of personal computing skills, Windows application experience a must.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and PC skills.

• Decision-making ability and teamwork are essential to this role.
