Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Responsible for EKG testing and cardiac event monitors; prepares information for physicians to read and interpret the studies within Cardiovascular Services; scans Holter monitor results into the patient’s file.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares patient and performs EKGs according to procedure, e.g., attaches, connects and operates electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electrocardiograph machine. (30%)

  • Attaches Holter monitor and cardiac event monitor electrodes.  (30%)

  • Maintains records of EKGs, stress tests, and Holter monitors as well as the files and reports; prepares data for physician analysis and interpretation; mails/sends reports or other documents as required. (20%)

  • Assists in scheduling exams; answers phones; greets and checks in all outpatients whose testing is in our department; and provides information and/or directions. (15%)

  • Maintains adequate supplies for efficient operations; cleans and maintains equipment; ensures proper working order; and reports any malfunctions. (5%) 

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Previous stress testing, Holter monitor scanning and cardiac event monitor experience.

  • CPR – American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree

  • Arrhythmia interpretation experience.
