Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Process Specialist I or II for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

This position will engage in process reliability improvement and waste reduction. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, provide technical support, and troubleshoot processes. This role will focus on process improvement and project management to achieve increased process control and a reduction in process variation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and participate in the maintenance of plant processes that support the manufacturing of extruded film in accordance with cost, quantity,  food safety, cleanliness, and safety expectations of Printpack and its external customers. 
  •  Monitor process data generated by the manufacturing operation known as Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) for adherence to defined process specifications and analyze this data for trends that may indicate the need to reevaluate the SOC specification values.
  • Based on analysis and input from Product Development Engineers, maintain Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) used in the manufacturing process. 
  • Similar attention is to be given to procedures of operation knows as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and execute process improvement projects
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for production equipment and related processes.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report components of the production process that contribute to the calculation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and related procedure issues.
  • Design and maintain methods to gather daily Statistical Process Control (SPC), SOC, and SOP data relating to manufacturing processes. Determine the need for adjustments to operating procedures, Process Specifications, and Product Specifications based on supporting data.
  • Perform a visual inspection of major extruder hardware components and maintain an inventory with data related to those components. Manage the inventory
  • Audit and maintain statistical data regarding the maintenance and operation of production equipment
  • Determine the need for adjustments to procedures and process specifications based on supporting data
  • Assist with non-conforming material hold/quarantine and disposition process.
  • Assist with investigations of customer complaints and internal operational issues.
