POSITION:                         Housekeeping Manager

 Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Housekeeping Manager at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana.   Under the direction of the Operations Manager and the Director of Operations the team member's primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs workers engaged in the general cleaning and up-keep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows, as well as clean-up during and after events.
  • Ensures that all job assignments are completed during events or shifts.
  • Schedules and supervises housekeeping  staff
  • Sets-up venues, as written orders, and equipment requirements direct.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Submits maintenance request orders for repairs and damages.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Keeps equipment in good working order while following safety procedures.
  • Ensures proper use of all chemicals by housekeeping staff in accordance with SDS’s.
  • Enforces employee dress code and grooming standards.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.
  • Performs monthly inventory audit of housekeeping equipment and supplies monthly.

Supervisory Responsibilities    

Manages all employees in the Housekeeping Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASMGlobal’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays and can work flexible schedule

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

Education and/or Experience        

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years of custodial or housekeeping experience required.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Skills and Abilities                                           

  • Good organization skills
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays

Computer Skills                                                 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • No certifications are required.
