Manulife Investments is a $70B+ provider of investment solutions for individual investors and families in Canada, primarily through financial advisors. Our offerings span a range of vehicles—including ETFs, mutual funds, and separately managed accounts—and are designed to help advisors meet the evolving needs of their clients.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role supports an always-on, B2B marketing strategy with a strong focus on brand and thought leadership. You will lead the execution of a portfolio of high-impact programs across events, content, email, and digital channels, while partnering closely with Sales, investment leaders, Digital, CX, and Compliance.
This is a hands-on role that blends strategy and execution, focused on elevating the consistency, quality, and measurable impact of our thought leadership and brand presence with advisors.
What you’ll do
1) Thought leadership events & programming
Represent Marketing for key advisor events, partnering with the Events team on communications, messaging, creative concepts, and presentation requirements.
Lead execution of a quarterly thought leadership event series, coordinating with internal investment and capital markets experts; manage promotion, live event delivery, and post-event follow-up.
2) Customer insights & performance analytics
Oversee customer feedback and digital performance insights for Canada Retail Marketing.
Partner with CX to analyze advisor feedback and translate insights into actionable improvements across content, campaigns, and experiences.
Monitor digital performance across priority pages and journeys, providing recommendations to improve engagement, usability, and content effectiveness.
3) Digital experience leadership (platforms & optimization)
Lead marketing intake and coordination for ongoing website and experience optimization, working closely with Digital and Sales partners.
Serve as the primary marketing lead for key advisor-facing digital content and insight platforms.
Support senior leaders on new digital experience launches, helping connect program objectives to advisor needs, content readiness, and launch planning.
4) Thought leadership content engine
Strengthen and scale the thought leadership content ecosystem, including:
Video and podcast programming: lead coordination and execution with Sales and internal investment leaders, including format development, editorial calendars, production workflows, and publishing cadence.
Email marketing: onboard internal subject-matter experts into email workflows and enhance thought leadership newsletters through improved templates, quality assurance, and operational processes.
Research and insights content: support the development and digital distribution of recurring thought leadership reports, partnering with internal contributors on coordination and execution.
5) Brand & thought leadership campaign support
Support paid and owned brand and thought leadership initiatives for Canada Retail, ensuring strong alignment across messaging, landing experiences, and measurement.
Required Qualifications:
Approximately 8-10 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in wealth or asset management or a regulated financial services environment.
Proven experience executing thought leadership programs and virtual events end-to-end, including speaker management and post-event follow-up.
Strong digital marketing fundamentals, including content journeys, website optimization, and performance reporting.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with Sales, investment teams, Digital, CX, and Compliance—driving outcomes without direct authority.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high bar for brand consistency and attention to detail.
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset, given translation and bilingual communications needs.
Tools & systems (assets)
Experience with content management systems, marketing automation, and workflow tools (e.g., AEM, Marketo, Workfront) is an asset.
Familiarity with email/content production platforms and customer feedback or analytics tools is an asset.
