About the Role:
The Intern – Defect Management Support will assist the Defect Management function in executing day-to-day defect tracking, coordination, and reporting activities across active software development programs. The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, timely follow-ups, and structured reporting, enabling effective defect resolution and supporting overall delivery quality.
What You Will Do:
Maintain and regularly update defect tracking systems (JIRA/Excel) with accurate and current information
Track defect lifecycle stages including new, assigned, in-progress, resolved, verified, and closed
Support defect triage activities by preparing consolidated defect data and classification (severity, priority, modules, root cause where applicable)
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Development, Integration, Testing, Systems) for timely defect analysis and closure
Monitor defect aging and escalate risks or delays as required
Assist in preparation of defect dashboards, metrics, and periodic status reports for internal reviews
Ensure consistency, completeness, and discipline in defect data entry and tracking processes
Support documentation of root cause analysis (RCA) and validation of defect fixes
Contribute to continuous improvement of defect tracking and reporting processes
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing final year) in:
Computer Science
Information Technology
Electronics or related field
Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and defect lifecycle management
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, analysis, and reporting)
Familiarity with defect management tools such as JIRA (preferred)
Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and consistency
Good coordination and follow-up skills across multiple stakeholders
Effective written and verbal communication skills
