The Role 

The Vice President, Product and Portfolio, Oncology & Specialty, will lead the governance planning and execution of the product development portfolio.  This leader will work closely with product leaders within the business and, as necessary, directly manage the leadership of products in development that aligns with our strategic objectives.  This leader will ensure standard project management practices are leveraged to track timelines, resources, and value for our product investments in partnership with finance and the businesses.  In addition, the overall management of the portfolio, analytics, prioritization, and governance will be within the responsibilities of this role. 

Key Responsibilities 

Product Management :

  • Apply functional and operational expertise, broad company knowledge, and extensive industry experience to achieve key business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain robust project management processes and best practices for effective planning, execution, and delivery of product initiatives.
  • Create transparency to overall product plans, timelines, resources, and budgets; monitor progress and performance, proactively raising risks and issues to teams and leadership.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the development and innovation process, adhering to general project management standards.

Portfolio Management:

  • Establish and maintain visibility to products in development and those within the businesses with significant portfolio of P&L implications
  • Establish a network of product leaders and managers to assess performance, identify gaps, and ensure the progress of the portfolio
  • Manage Portfolio Review meetings, including the agenda, decision making and communication to the organization to enable transparency to the progress of products actively in development and where investment decisions are needed.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure continual management of the business case and any implication on Long Range Planning (LRP) assumptions.
  • Ensure a balanced portfolio addressing short-term needs and long-term growth opportunities and prioritization of any products in the development portfolio in alignment with our strategy.
  • Utilize technology to manage, track, and assess the portfolio of products, as necessary.

Product Leadership:

  • Work with oncology and strategy leadership to ensure product leaders are identified and have cross-functional teams and resources necessary to drive product success.
  • Facilitate product management processes and resources to develop and execute upon product business cases for new or expanded product development.

Qualifications 

Minimum Requirements 

  • 15+ years of business experience in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience leading product teams, including multiple layers of management.
  • Experience in the biopharma industry a plus

Critical Skills

  • Product and Portfolio management experience
  • Expertise in portfolio strategy and management, product/portfolio performance evaluation, and portfolio roadmap development.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Able to thrive in ambiguity and create scalable structures in a fast-paced organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in guiding a new department in vision casting, strategy development, and executing a healthcare technology portfolio.
  • Experience in building and leading an organization through high growth and transformation.
  • People leadership and new team building skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$192,200 - $320,300
