We are seeking an experienced MTS Technical Consultant to support the design, configuration, enhancement, migration, testing, and production support of ACI MTS implementations. The ideal candidate will bring strong payments domain knowledge, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, configuration specifications, and delivery documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support ACI MTS customization, enhancement, migration, upgrade, and implementation activities across client environments.
  • Configure and optimize MTS components, including routing, queues, workflows, message processing, and operational parameters.
  • Analyze client requirements and translate them into technical designs, solution documents, configuration specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Work with payment message formats and schemes including SWIFT MT, SWIFT MX, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHIPS, and Fedwire.
  • Support ISO 20022 and payment modernization initiatives, including message transformation, validation, testing, and migration activities.
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting incidents, performing root cause analysis, recommending corrective actions, and validating fixes.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot MTS environments across Linux, Unix, and AIX platforms.
  • Manage configuration updates, deployments, releases, snapshots, and environment refresh activities in coordination with project and support teams.
  • Support test environment setup, test data loading, record and line configuration, scenario execution, defect triage, retesting, and issue resolution.
  • Work with databases and middleware components including ENTIA, Oracle, and IBM MQ to support configuration, integration, and troubleshooting needs.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, design documents, release notes, test evidence, and support handover materials.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders, business users, developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and support teams to ensure successful delivery and operational stability.
  • Apply strong ownership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to manage priorities and deliver against project objectives.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience in payments technology, banking applications, or financial services technology delivery.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ACI Money Transfer System (MTS), including configuration, customization, troubleshooting, and support.
  • In-depth understanding of payment processing, payment message flows, and banking domain applications.
  • Working knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHIPS, Fedwire, and related payment formats and schemes.
  • Experience working on Linux, Unix, or AIX platforms.
  • Experience with ENTIA, Oracle databases, and IBM MQ.
  • Ability to analyze production issues, reproduce defects, coordinate fixes, and validate resolutions.
  • Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.

Preferred Skills

·Experience in payment platform upgrades, migration programs, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

·Exposure to release management, Git or equivalent version control tools, and deployment governance processes.

·Experience supporting performance testing, resiliency testing, and post-implementation stabilization activities.

·Ability to conduct client workshops, clarify requirements, assess impact, and provide technical recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience in payments technology may also be considered.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a self-driven technical consultant with strong ownership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in complex banking technology environments.
