General Description:

This role is responsible for establishing, leading, and advancing BeOne’s Global Security function across EMEA. The role applies to established Global Security standards while building and maturing regional security capabilities in support of business operations.

The Associate Director closely partners with the Senior Director of Global Security, as well as with other Global Security team members to deliver consistent, practical security support across the regions. Responsibilities span the full Global Security scope, including physical security, risk assessments, incident response, travel and meeting security support, vendor management, and regional execution of global programs.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned security generalist with strong judgment, experience operating in global and evolving environments, and the ability to build trusted partnerships across functions. This individual is comfortable balancing hands-on execution with program development and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Serve as the primary Global Security lead for EMEA, supporting offices, labs, and business activities across the region.

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve regional security programs aligned with Global Security standards and evolving regional needs.

  • Lead and support security risk assessments for Europe-based sites, meetings, events, travel, and business activities

  • Conduct people-focused risk assessments, including behavioral or situational assessments, and develop appropriate mitigation and escalation strategies.

  • Support travel and security across EMEA, including pre-travel risk considerations and coordination for elevated risk travel.

  • Support meetings and events of security in the regions using established global standards, including risk assessments, security recommendations, and vendor coordination.

  • Support physical security design and technology for new sites, buildouts, renovations, and ongoing operations, including access control, video, alarms, and related systems.

  • Support incident response and coordination for security, safety, and people-related events in Europe in alignment with the CWRT framework.

  • Partner with Global Security team members, regional stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure integrated security planning and execution.

  • Provide regional insights, lessons learned, and recommendations to inform continuous improvement of global security programs.

  • Other duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • May lead internal or external security resources depending on business needs.

Technical Skills and Other Qualifications:   

  • Comfortable applying global security standards and tools in regional environments.

  • Strong security technology and security design experience supporting new sites, buildouts, and renovations, including access control, video, alarms, and related infrastructure.

  • Able to evaluate and improve existing security programs to strengthen regional effectiveness.

  • Experience in Meeting & Event Security and Executive Security Support

  • Experience building new security initiatives where gaps exist, aligned with regional needs and global strategy.

  • Clear written and verbal communication with non-security stakeholders

  • BA/BS Degree with 8+ years of progressive corporate or global security experience required.

  • Broad experience across corporate security functions, including security operations, incident response, physical security, security technology, and event or travel security.

  • Experience supporting regional or multi-site operations, preferably in Europe.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and mature security programs in evolving environments.

  • Strong judgment and ability to operate independently while partnering closely with global leadership.

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.

  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across organizational levels.

  • Calm, practical, and effective in elevated or high-pressure situations.

  • Confidentiality.

Travel: 15-20% and as needed.
