CNN Performance & Frameworks - Design System

The CNN Design system team is a collaborative and inclusive team that encourages creative problem-solving and cross-functional partnerships between engineering, design, product, and our internal partners leveraging the CNN Design System. We aim to drive innovation in design and engineering processes to push the boundaries of our design system capabilities which entails a collection of design libraries and reusable components that work across all of our templates and verticals (Web, Mobile, CTV, etc…). We strive to help teams in their missions to scale high quality products, rapidly and iteratively, in turn reducing the amount of time to build features.

The Job

As a Senior Software Engineer of CNN's Innovative Design System Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of CNN’s digital products. You will be apart of a team of skilled engineers responsible for developing and maintaining our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and optimal user experiences across all CNN platforms. Your technical expertise will drive the team's success, foster a culture of excellence, and play a crucial role in CNN's reputation in digital media innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

The Daily

· Working across the full stack on a variety of complex projects

· Driving business results by applying engineering and analytics

· Collaborating cross-functionally to deliver experiments and significant results

· Effective documentation, prescribed solutions, reference architectures, and production support playbooks

· Work within various areas of focus like observability, security, infrastructure, continuous integration/deployment, researching methodologies and designing strategies and solutions for building, deploying, and optimizing our systems.

· Improving stability through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes

The Essentials

· 5+ years of programming experience

· 5+ Years of experience with HTML and CSS

· 3+ years of experience working with other developers on a production system

· 2+ years of experience developing/maintaining Design Systems

· 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, including ES6/7, asynchronous JavaScript, and Node.js.

· You have worked with any front-end JavaScript framework in production.

· Git is a regular tool for you. You’ve worked with Github and can rebase and merge with ease

· Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.

· Proven experience collaborating effectively with remote teams across multiple time zones

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $119,700.00 - $222,300.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
