The Quality Director is responsible for leading and driving the overall Quality strategy, systems, and performance across manufacturing operations in EII Sites. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, compliance, continuous improvement, and alignment with global quality standards.
The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Quality, Product Development, and global leadership teams to establish a culture of quality excellence while supporting business growth, operational efficiency, and customer expectations. This leader will oversee multi-site quality operations and drive standardization, governance, and execution consistency across the organization.
This role requires a strong leader with experience in complex manufacturing environments, preferably within electronics, automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing industries.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the Quality strategy aligned with business and operational objectives.
Lead and mentor Quality teams across multiple manufacturing sites in Mexico.
Drive a culture focused on accountability, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Establish standardized quality systems, metrics, and governance processes across sites.
Partner with global and regional leadership teams to align quality priorities and initiatives.
Operational Quality
Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
Drive improvements in key quality metrics including PPM, COPQ, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and audit performance.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for major quality issues.
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure quality readiness and successful launches.
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to improve process capability and manufacturing performance.
Customer & Supplier Quality
Serve as a key escalation point for critical customer quality concerns.
Strengthen customer relationships through proactive communication and effective issue resolution.
Partner with Supplier Quality teams to improve supplier performance, risk mitigation, and incoming quality.
Support customer audits, certifications, and regulatory compliance activities.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF and applicable regulatory standards.
Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
Monitor quality trends and implement preventive strategies to reduce operational risk.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
10+ years of progressive Quality leadership experience within manufacturing environments.
Multi-site Quality leadership experience.
Strong experience with Quality Management Systems and manufacturing quality processes.
Experience supporting automotive, electronics, industrial, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Experience leading customer quality escalations and executive-level communications.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Preferred
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience within global or matrix organizations.
Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
Experience supporting high-mix / high-volume manufacturing operations.
Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
