As a Senior People Operations Specialist at Santander, you will work broadly with HR Operations across the Nordics, while acting as the subject matter expert for Sweden. You will be the key expert within HR administration, local employment law, employee lifecycle processes, compliance, and HR systems.
In this role, you will also hold process responsibility for Workday governance, AI initiatives, data quality improvements, contingent workforce processes, and salary review and analysis.
This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover from May/June 2026 to February 2027. Application deadline March 6, 2026.
What you’ll be responsible for
Manage HR administration across the Nordics
Ensure high data accuracy and integrity in HR systems
Own and manage employee data in Workday, including organizational structure design and position creation
Monitor and respond to inquiries in our HR channels (shared inbox, SD chat, and ServiceNow)
Coordinate with the local IT team and Santander Group to ensure accurate data flow between HR and IT systems
Manage Workday data loads (mass uploads)
Support reporting and analytics activities
Deliver the People & Culture welcome session for new employees
Create and maintain guides, policies, and handbooks, and act as an advisor on HR policies and practices
Ensure compliance with local legislation, regulations, company policies, and collective agreements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve HR processes and systems and ensure smooth transitions from project to operational delivery
Lead and coordinate People Operations deliverables within your assigned scope

Your profile
You have solid experience working with employment law across the Nordics, including in-depth knowledge of Swedish labour law, HR governance, and regulatory requirements.
You bring proven experience as an HR/People Operations Specialist, HR Generalist, and/or HR Business Partner, along with strong expertise in HR systems — particularly Workday — and related technologies.
You have experience working in an international and multicultural environment and bring a structured and analytical approach to projects, including process improvement initiatives, tool implementation, and project management.
As a professional, you are reliable, agile, and collaborative. You are organized and able to prioritize effectively while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You are tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and understand the importance of data quality. With a solution-oriented mindset, you turn challenges into opportunities and work constructively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
