Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Security Coordinator 3 to join our team of talented and diverse individuals at our Commerce, CA location. This position will be responsible for performing security and general administrative functions.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for site visitor access control at the main lobby.  Validates all visitor request using company electronic My Lobby visitor notification system.  Responsible for screening and verifying visitor identification cards, documents, and issues appropriate visitor escort required and non-escort required badges.
  • Screens and processes all foreign visitor request.  
  • Providing site physical security support, including monitoring site security cameras, conducting random personnel – bag inspections, issuing, programming, activating and deactivating employee and contractor badges. 
  • Maintaining site lock and key control records. 
  • Providing security orientation training for all new hires and contractors.
  • Providing and tracking company and customer required security training for employees and contractors.  
  • Providing exit interviews and security debriefs of all terminated and departing employees and contractors.
  • Providing security guidance and oversight to onsite contract guard force. Reviews all guard shift reports and takes appropriate action on all suspicious incidents or criminal activity.   
  • Maintaining, updating site security, physical security and emergency action plans.   
  • Maintaining record system to track company compliance forms and documents. 
  • Assisting the MEP Security Manager in conducting inquiries into potential Insider threats, suspicious incidents and activity.    
  • Providing after-hours - 24/7 response to site security and safety emergencies and alarm activations.
  • Providing support to the Environmental, Health & Safety Department during site emergencies and evacuations.   
  • Coordinating a broad variety of operating unit events, meetings, and teleconferences and creating a great atmosphere for all employees to work in.
  • Supporting calendars and scheduling meetings, to include all support necessary to facilitate meetings, often in close coordination with others.
  • Serve as Timecard Administrator – ensuring employees timecards are completed accurately and timely.
  • Arranging travel and processing expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Supporting management in the creation of presentations and operating unit communications.
  • Ordering and managing refreshments and luncheons for meetings.
  • Ordering and managing inventory of office supplies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related security and/or administrative experience.
  • Candidate must have and be able to maintain an Active DoD U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level with a background investigation date within the last 6 years,
  • Strong working knowledge of basic office automation tool suites such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and actions simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) CDSE Professional Certification.
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM Rule – 32 CFR - Part 117 and DISS.
  • Knowledgeable and ability to provide general security guidance.
  • Confident phone presence, excellent customer service, written and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal/external customers across organization.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility to deal with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Prior military experience is preferred.      

Salary Range: $48,600.00 - $81,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
