How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Airgas Specialty Products (ASP) is the premier US industrial ammonia supplier for denox metal treatment, water treatment, chemical processing and ammonia refrigeration. We are hiring a Plant Manager to join our Operations team.
  • Direct management responsibility for all Drivers and Plant workers assigned to the South St Paul, MN facility including hiring, training, and safety. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: associate coaching, training, compliance and discipline.
  • Ensuring that safety is regularly communicated as the number one priority at the facility including but not limited to safety training, good catch, monthly safety meetings, safety contacts, and online training through WB manager.
  • Work with CSR’s, sales, and plant managers to oversee dispatch for the Jeffersonville facility to ensure deliveries are made safely and by the most efficient and profitable way.
  • Work with Region CSR's to manage the product supply and inventory for the facility.
  • Accountable for associate training and documentation (WB Manager, DQ files, SOP reviews, etc.)
  • Oversee all truck and trailer maintenance and documentation. (repairs, monthly inspections, annual and five year testing, etc).
  • Oversee all plant operations including truck and rail loading/unloading, water system operation and maintenance, and cylinder and tote filling as well as managing any plant projects as needed.
  • Oversee all of the building and plant equipment maintenance. Activities will include the facility inspection, hose inspection and all repair and maintenance activities.
  • Work with the sales team to address any customer issues or concerns.
  • Interact with JJ Keller, Warner Fleet Services, etc. as needed regarding driver and equipment issues and tracking.
  • Responsible for effective use of all driver resources including minimizing the overtime, leveling the work load across all drivers, and cross training all drivers to handle all distribution equipment. 
  • Accountable for compliance with the local Airgas Safety manual, Driver training manual, and Transportation manual as well as local SOP’s.
  • Manage the monthly expenses for the operations facility and be able to explain the financial drivers on the monthly budget reports.
  • Assist the Regional Manager in the development of the annual Capitol and Operating budgets for the facility.
  • Work with other facilities and managers to ensure the development of best practices.

Are you a MATCH?

  • 6+ years professional work experience including a supervisory role. 

  • Bachelor Degree required 

  • Knowledge of Safety and Regulatory/DOT/OSHA/EPA Compliance.

  • Experience with hazardous material with knowledge in hazmat regulations. 

  • Knowledge of industrial chemical distribution or logistics including inventory management preferred. 

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with using the Google platform.

  • Good oral and writing skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Fluent in the English language. 

  • Good organizational skills. 

  • Communication skills in order to effectively communicate with branch associates and all levels of management within Airgas. 

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate others. 

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
