Let's start with the role

We are looking for a motivated MS SQL Database Administrator with knowledge also of NoSQL engines to join our team and help maintain, optimize, and further develop our database infrastructures.Our Database Team ensures the stability, performance, and quality of all databases supporting Betano & Stoiximan. As part of our IT Division, we handle millions of transactions per second across large-scale databases. We challenge ourselves to design and optimize advanced database architectures with top-tier performance and security.As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring database integrity, performance, and security, while working independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

As a Database Administrator, you will: 

 

  • Day-to-day support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration of several MS SQL databases and other engines like mongoDB, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB;
  • Resolve performance issues and conduct root cause analysis;
  • Run regular batch processes/jobs for database maintenance, performance tuning and other dba tasks;
  • Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies/procedures;
  • Apply security patching and conduct version upgrade;
  • Ensure database security best practice is met;
  • Respond to issues and support calls, including security incidents;
  • Deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • 4+ years hands-on production experience on MS SQL Server Database Administration;
  • Experience in supporting MS SQL Server database elements, including: Jobs Scheduling, Monitoring, Patching, Backup/Recovery, Replication, Availability Groups and Always On;
  • Experience with:
  • Job Scheduling, Monitoring, Patching, Backup/Recovery, Replication, Availability Groups, and Always On.
  • SQL Server Performance Tuning & Query Optimization.
  • Cluster migrations and setup.
  • T-SQL programming and database development.
  • In-Memory Technology in SQL Server.
  • Automation & Scripting using PowerShell and DBAtools.
  • Data partitioning flows and indexing strategies.
  • Git version control.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written;
  • Strong skills in teamwork, communication, analytical thinking and problem solving;
  • A continuous learning mindset, eager to mentor and support junior colleagues.
