Job Description

As a Security Researcher, you’ll be part of a team focused on identifying and reducing product risk across Thermo Fisher Scientific’s diverse portfolio. You’ll work hands-on with software, hardware, and cloud environments to uncover security issues and support secure product development. This role offers the opportunity to grow deep technical expertise while contributing to high-impact testing and research.

A day in the Life:

  • Independently conduct remediation validation, ensuring reported vulnerabilities have been effectively resolved and identifying any residual risks.
  • Perform limited scope penetration tests across a range of technologies including APIs, cloud workloads, web apps, and software components.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers on large-scale, open-box security assessments targeting complex systems and emerging technologies.

Keys to Success:

The Product Security Researcher will be successful by combining curiosity, technical rigor, and a drive for continuous learning.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience – or equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of a degree, with a longer track record of proven, practical work in the field

Experience

  • Practical experience with hands-on security testing or vulnerability validation—whether in real-world projects, labs, internships, or personal work.
  • Familiarity with testing web, API, cloud, or software systems through study or work.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A solid grasp of security fundamentals—like common vulnerabilities and how security fits into the product development process.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • •  Familiarity with common security issues (like those in the OWASP Top 10) and tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, or your own scripts.
  • •  A strong curiosity and desire to explore new technologies and uncover security risks.
  • •  Ability to explain technical risks clearly, helping teams take action.
  • •  Interest in growing your skills in areas like AI/ML, cloud, embedded systems, or native software security.

Benefits

  • Work with us and be an important part of a company developing innovative technologies for scientific customers worldwide.
  • We have a modern work environment with relax zones, power yoga lectures, gym, outside playground, massages, and a company canteen.
  • Each colleague is part of an open company culture. We have a company rock band, Dragon boats team, Ice hockey team, and many other sport and social activities.
  • Great working equipment: high-quality computer, company phone, and two monitors as standard, with office equipment based on preferences.
  • Flexible working hours for a good work-life balance, including 5 weeks of vacation and 5 sick days per year.
  • Financial benefits include an annual bonus, meal allowance, and pension insurance allowance.
  • Employee benefits: mobile tariff for you and family, free Multisport card, life/health insurance.
