The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented executive to join HP’s Print Strategy & Planning team, part of HP’s Strategy & Transformation organization. The Office Print Strategy leader will leverage prior experience in management consulting / corporate / business strategy to influence the strategic direction for the Office Print Solutions (OPS) business. They will apply strategic problem-solving skills and deliver data-driven insights to improve business performance in the medium- to long-term, identify growth opportunities in current and adjacent market segments, and develop new business models that maximize enterprise value. The Office Print Strategy leader will play a critical role in enabling the OPS business transition to a higher mix of software- and services-led offerings.

The Office Print Strategy leader will be an integral member of the extended OPS business leadership team, reporting dotted line into the OPS Division President and working closely with his direct reports. The Strategy leader will collaborate with and influence senior executives to build consensus and secure commitment for priority initiatives. They will work with the various business and finance teams to translate initiatives into financial and execution plans.


A successful leader in this role must drive for results with integrity, seek customer-focused solutions, and bring a balance to long- and short-term priorities. The person must be able to work in a collaborative environment; be a self-starter and feel comfortable in an ambiguous, constantly evolving, fast-moving environment of shared accountability.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Be a thought leader and influencer, within the Office Print Solutions (OPS) and overall Print business
  • Conduct regular customer, market, and industry deep dives to identify key trends and opportunities
  • Develop overall portfolio and business strategy for OPS that leads to significant improvement in long-term business value
  • Continuously identify, scope, launch and drive to conclusion specific initiatives that drive substantial mid- and long-term business value
  • Lead key strategic initiatives across different Office Print businesses that improve business competitiveness and deliver growth within existing and adjacent segments
  • Work collaboratively and effectively across a global matrix organization to build alignment and ensure development of rigorous execution plans
  • Work with business stakeholders and finance to translate strategic and operational initiatives into multi-year financial plans
  • Establish performance measures that track progress against strategic objectives
  • Drive continuous engagement with the OPS leadership team to review performance against strategy and recommend refinements as appropriate
  • Recruit, nurture and develop talent to build a world class internal strategy team

Education And Experience

  • MBA or demonstrable equivalent
  • Total experience of 15+ years in areas such as strategy, business planning, product, or category management
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working at a leading management consulting firm
  • Track record of driving change and transformation in large-scale projects
  • Have personal gravitas and maturity to engage with VP-level and above leaders and deal with a dynamic business environment
  • Demonstrate high levels of intellectual curiosity and possess analytically rigorous and data-driven problem-solving skills
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in leading or supporting business transformations in product companies from hardware-centric to solutions-centric customer value
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in strategy and operational roles
  • Superior strategic and analytical skills with ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations
  • Superior communication (written/verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex concepts
  • Must have passion for developing empowered and engaged teams
