The Fine Cheeses Marketing Manager – Import (13‑month temporary assignment) plays a key role in supporting Agropur’s objective of growing its domestic and imported cheese brands. In this role, the incumbent will actively contribute to the strategic development and growth of the category with a focus on profitability, by supporting the development of strong brands, maximizing the product mix within their portfolio, and delivering the projects under their responsibility.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Fine Cheeses Marketing Manager – Import will work closely with colleagues from Sales, Commercial Strategy, Finance, and Production, as well as with import suppliers. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing and evaluating product line performance, monitoring consumer insights and market dynamics to stay ahead of trends and knowledge, and ensuring budget follow‑up for assigned projects.

  • Salary scale 005: $84,600 to $105,800
    (Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and job‑related competencies.)

How you will contribute to collective success:

  • Understand and analyze current and future market data and consumer needs to identify market opportunities and make recommendations;

  • Provide the information required to build business cases supporting new opportunities (market analysis, regulatory considerations, volume/price estimates, marketing support, etc.);

  • Establish trusted relationships with import suppliers to support the achievement of shared objectives (weekly or monthly communications, performance reports, business reviews, etc.);

  • Evaluate the performance and positioning of products under their responsibility as well as competitors’ products in order to assess opportunities and risks and present recommendations;

  • Receive and review new product requests from suppliers and formulate recommendations based on feasibility, complexity, and profitability potential;

  • Lead cross‑functional teams as a project manager for assigned mandates (new products, portfolio optimization/simplification, etc.) and act as the main point of contact between departments (Sales, Finance, Production, etc.);

  • Coach and develop the Import Assistant Marketing Manager;

  • Manage the product life cycle, including launches, delistings, and/or portfolio optimization;

  • Contribute to the development of annual marketing plans;

  • Manage assigned budgets.

The type of player who thrives on the team:

  • University degree in Marketing or Business Administration; a master’s degree is an asset;

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in brand management and/or consumer product commercialization; experience in dairy products is an asset;

  • Proven experience in product development and launch;

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills;

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

  • Solid understanding of financial principles to assess project profitability (P&L);

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and successfully deliver projects in a cross‑functional environment (Stage Gate), an asset.
