Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a temporary Metering System Specialist I, II, or Senior to join our Information Technology team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Meter System Specialist do for us?
A Meter System Specialist works in a collaborative, team-based environment to operate and manage the meter data acquisition and validation systems, notably the large customer data collection (MV90), automated meter reading (AclaraOne), meter data management systems (IEE), and the manual meter reading system (MVRS). Responsibilities will include executing the daily processes required to retrieve and validate routine billing data through the Company's meter reading and meter data validation systems. Including operation, process management and record retention. As well as working failure lists to resolution, monitoring process completion, identifying individual or group failures, performing process restarts and validation of file transfers. Along with assisting system administrators and field personnel in resolving issues by performing reading retries or creating and tracking field service orders and utilizing both departmental and peripheral systems (such as CR&B, OMS, switching orders or Mobile) to investigate and resolve errors.
In addition to the duties listed above, the Senior Meter System Specialist is responsible for the development and continuous improvement of daily meter system processes. They ensure the processes meet the business requirements, are documented. They provide metering OT system and process training. They work closely with the Metering System Administrators to develop new system functionality into controlled services, ensuring that processes are documented, trained, and meet business requirements. They assist the system administrator with software upgrades by running test scenarios, reviewing output files, and validating interfaces and process results. They provide backup support for the system administrators, covering for others’ time off or during short periods when the administrator is over-committed. They are responsible for maintaining the translation desk work schedule and assignments. They will coordinate task assignments, ensure resources are available to meet the work schedule and adjust assignments as necessary to cover for FTO or absence. They are also a backup resource for completing the daily meter system processes and will stand call in the rotation supporting daily system operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
On call schedule approximates to 4 hours per day on the scheduled weekend or holiday based on the rotation schedule. Work can be performed remotely or on site.
