Job Description Summary
Humana is seeking a Senior DevOps Platform Engineer to advance our healthcare technology initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, compliant cloud infrastructure on Azure and GCP, supporting enterprise-scale engineering teams. Key duties include building modern CI/CD pipelines, deploying and managing Kubernetes-based workloads, building helm charts, GitOps patterns, integrating security tools, automating workflows using PowerShell, Bash, and Python, and ensuring HIPAA and SOC2 compliance. The position also involves troubleshooting complex incidents, providing on-call support, enhancing developer experience through standards and documentation, and participating in Agile ceremonies. Ideal candidates should have experience IT infrastructure, significant hands-on DevOps experience, strong automation and troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with healthcare or regulated environments. Technical proficiency with cloud platforms, CI/CD tools, containers, security integrations, and scripting is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure and GCP
  • Develop, operate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Harness, GitHub Actions and GitOps - ArgoCD
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications with Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, OpenShift)
  • Implement security best practices, administer and integrate tools such as SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory and Jfrog Xray.
  • Deep understanding of feature flag management and progressive delivery techniques using LaunchDarkly. 
  • Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Bash, and Python
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub CoPilot) to build self-service capabilities and enable agentic engineering workflows
  • Ensure HIPAA and SOC2 compliance throughout DevOps processes
  • Configure, optimize, and support build agents and runners (Linux, Windows, GHRunners)
  • Provide L3 and on-call support for infrastructure and platform services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform incidents independently
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability to ensure optimal operation
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives), backlog grooming, and continuous improvement
  • Create documentation, standards, and reusable templates to enhance developer experience

Technical Skills:

  • Cloud: Azure, GCP, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitOps, ArgoCD
  • Containers: Kubernetes, AKS, GKE, OpenShift
  • Quality, Security and Feature Flag Tools: SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory, LaunchDarkly
  • Operating Systems: Strong Linux/Unix administration
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Advanced Bash, Python
  • AI Tools: Experience with Windsurf or similar AI development tools
  • Monitoring: Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools
  • Certifications: Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, Kubernetes) are a plus

Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years in IT infrastructure and operations
  • 5+ years hands-on DevOps experience
  • Healthcare or regulated environment experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise DevOps platforms
  • Familiarity with DORA metrics and DevOps maturity models
  • Experience integrating automated testing and security tools into CI/CD
  • Background in regulated/compliance-driven environments (healthcare a plus)

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$106,900 - $147,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
