Job Description Summary
This position provides technical expertise and support of the product scale/distribution and bagging systems used in Lamb Weston and will be responsible for documenting, tracking, and directing technical maintenance and reliability efforts of the company’s scale and bagging equipment. Equipment includes product scale/delivery systems (typically Ishida scales), product bagging systems (typically BOSCH, Triangle, LambPak), and other related peripheral equipment. Additionally, a key responsibility is developing and maintaining technical, operational, and service documentation, as well as to promote best practices for manufacturing plants. The incumbent of this role will spend more than 75% of their time improving asset utilization of LW scale and bagging packaging systems.
Job Description
Provide leadership in establishing safety of all our associates to World Class Safety and Zero Incidents as a primary objective.
Support and provide Leadership in Quality and Food Safety to achieve goals of Zero Foreign Material.
Provide subject matter expertise of LW packaging scale and bagging systems and related peripheral equipment to actively improve asset utilization by elimination of unplanned mechanical downtime.
Support the team in providing project and technical design to the plant when required.
Demonstrate professional maturity through decision making and effective communication with various departments and managers to ensure project team resources are efficiently utilized.
Prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes.
Assist and Maintain Technical documentation, best practices, drawings, project documents.
Assist in keeping up-to-date drawings and as-built documentation.
Leads training and assembly of Lamb Weston Technology when needed.
Participate in project meetings when needed.
Provides up-to-date copies of drawings and specifications to contractors, project team, and plant personnel.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Assists in verifying that all materials installed complies with Lamb Weston approved submittals, and Standards.
Participates in project VAT/SAT process.
Continually monitors scale and bagging equipment: Ensuring that the project relationships are correct and preserve adherence to Lamb Weston Standards.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 5+ years of related experience; or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Packaging scale and bagging equipment design and operation experience preferred.
A basic working knowledge of packaging materials and sealing characteristics preferred.
Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal and communication skills.
Leadership skills to work as a peer and advisor to other departments.
Ability to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays when required.
Must be detail orientated, possess excellent technical and analytical skills, and be a proven self-starter.
Demonstrated capability to work on teams and support others.
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Organizational and report writing skills.
Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes, regulations, and requirements.
Knowledge of LW specific operations processes and programs is a highly preferred.
Experience and knowledge of industrial plant construction, codes, practices, and engineering requirements.
Proficient using Microsoft office suite, including MS Project and other computer applications including CAD systems, and SAP.
Read and understand basic electrical schematics.
Travel up to 30% of the time on average with occasional peaks above average, including periodic international travel. Must have a passport or the ability to get a passport in a timely fashion.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal using typical office equipment during a normal workday
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per workday may include: loud noise, vibration, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergens
May be exposed to temperatures ranging from 37° to 90°F while working in a Plant Operation and from -20° to 35°F while working in a Freezer Operation.
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, turning and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
Ability to operate work related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.Pay Rate or Range: $101,730.00 - $152,600.00
