Job Description Summary

The Control Systems Technician will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair building automation control systems owned or leased by the Medical University of South Carolina in order to ensure safety, environmental control and economy of mechanical, electrical, systems. These control systems include, but are not limited to, HVAC equipment, Medical Gas, Fire and Smoke Control and Electrical Distribution systems. The incumbent will, on a rotating basis, work at a control work station to monitor systems and work in the field repairing, adjusting and testing control systems as they interface with various equipment. Incumbent is Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster.

Job Description


 

10% -  Coordinates repairs and inspections with Energy Management Operator for proper shutdown and startup of air conditioning systems throughout campus.
 

10% - Supervises and instructs technicians of lower grade. Brief the supervisor of any problems that may effect proper operation of equipment.
 

15% - Diagnose and repair heating and air as it pertains to the METASYS Systems. Uses proper tools and electrical meter.
 

25% - Manually log into Metasys when the system goes down to insure the labs are running accurately. Recalibrate systems when needed, also write or rewrite any programs for the METASYS Systems. Operate CCT when needed.
 

35% -  The Control Systems Technician will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair building automation control systems owned by the Medical University in order to ensure safety, environmental control and economy of mechanical, electrical, systems. 5% - Maintain work area and job site in clean and orderly manner and performs miscellaneous and related duties as required.
