Role Purpose: The Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining demand forecasts to guide inventory management, production planning, and sales strategies. This role involves analyzing historical data, market trends, and sales inputs to generate accurate demand plans that ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
Roles & Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting:
•Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using statistical methods, historical data, and market analysis.
•Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate business intelligence and forecast information.
•Adjust forecasts based on market trends, seasonality, promotional activities, and new product launches.
Data Analysis:
•Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to identify patterns and trends.
•Use advanced analytics and demand planning software to generate and refine forecasts.
•Monitor forecast accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
•Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of demand forecasts with business plans.
•Facilitate regular meetings to discuss forecast updates, market conditions, and inventory levels.
•Communicate forecast changes and their impact on supply chain operations to relevant stakeholders.
Scenario Planning and Risk Management:
•Conduct scenario planning to evaluate the impact of different business scenarios on demand forecasts.
•Identify potential risks to the demand plan and develop mitigation strategies.
•Adjust demand plans in response to changes in the market or business environment.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
•Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and customer service levels.
•Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
•Use data visualization tools to effectively communicate demand trends and forecasts.
Performance Metrics:
•Demand analysis and fidelity analysis.
•Forecast accuracy and bias.
•Customer service levels and order fulfillment rates.
•Efficiency of demand planning processes.
Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree preferable Engineering or MBA with 4 to 6 years of experience in the manufacturing set up.
