WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Sr. Technical Designer for the Blocks Team coordinates the fit and construction of pattern blocks in adherence with Nike Apparel standards to deliver a consistent consumer experience. In this role you will build pattern blocks for consumption by category teams and will influence the adoption of consistent fit tools. You will also build and revise Tech Packs for assigned blocks and ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes. Additionally, you will collaborate with the grading team to ensure fit and sizing is maintained. You will monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the creation process.

The Sr. Technical Designer stays ahead of market trends, team goals, new technologies and consumer needs throughout the development process and engages appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

In this role you will be responsible for the Technical Design for the development of in-house block patterns to be used by product creation teams. 

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will report to the Global Apparel Blocks team.

You will work with the Global Standards team, Nike Product Creation category teams, Material partners and overseas factory vendors providing quality fit tools. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in apparel design, textile science or related field.
  • Two years additional product creation experience may be considered equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of fit and pattern making experience in the apparel industry, which includes the apparel development process from inception through production including grading, construction, materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.
  • Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions.
  • Experience writing product specs and construction standards instructions.
  • Experience working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international).
