Responsible for administering the implementation and maintenance of compensation programs including base pay, incentive pay, annual merit cycles, market data, job descriptions, and compensation systems.

Essential Job Duties

  • Serves as compensation team subject matter expert and directs the work of analyst(s) and supports Compensation Leadership with strategy, workflow, processes, priorities, projects.
  • Lead the design, implementation and administration of innovative compensation programs and policies including merit, base, and variable pay.
  • Leads market reviews for individual jobs or for department reviews.
  • Participates in salary surveys by analyzing current data, preparing compensation data to submit, and comparing results to existing salary structure and practices, and maintaining updates in survey management system.
  • Administrator for Compensation survey tool.
  • Lead the annual merit cycles for Corporate and Field employees.
  • Lead maintenance, reporting, and communication of annual bonus plans for Corporate and Field employees.
  • Lead Cost of Labor reviews and Minimum Wage updates.
  • Responsible for job description library, market pricings, job leveling, and maintaining the integrity of the compensation structure.
  • Serve as an internal resource to HR team, recruiters, and managers regarding compensation program/policy administration.
  • Provide counsel to HR and management regarding compensation actions for employees.
  • Coordinate with HRIS and other stakeholders to audit and verify compensation data.
  • Research and models best practices.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging compensation trends, creative solutions, and legislative changes.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

 Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience required; Fully competent professional; In-depth knowledge and experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.
  • 5+ years compensation experience in a large complex organization.
  • Knowledge of macros, relational databases, and/or SQL.
  • General compensation knowledge, including compensation theory and an understanding of job evaluation methods and market analysis techniques.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and Powerpoint presentations to support business objectives.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
  • Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
