About the Role

The automation engineer complements our existing AIA Group Automation Engineering Team in developing the self-service catalog of cloud services that our AIA business Units can consume. This role focuses on leveraging the ServiceNow platform and its integration with Terraform Cloud and Ansible Automation Platform to automate infrastructure management processes in AIA Group.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and develop self-service catalog items and approval workflows.
  • Design and develop Scripted REST API to integrate ServiceNow with external systems such as Terraform Cloud, Ansible Automation Platform, and Bitbucket Cloud.
  • Ensure quality through automated testing using the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework.
  • Design and develop jobs and workflows to discover and maintain cloud resource states using Cloud Discovery plugins.
  • Design and develop Terraform modules and configuration files for automated infrastructure provisioning.
  • Design and develop Ansible playbooks and workflows for automated infrastructure configuration.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Active professional certifications (ServiceNow System Administrator, ServiceNow Application Developer, Terraform Associate, Azure DevOps Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, etc.) are necessary.
  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in automation of infrastructure management and building self-service capabilities using ServiceNow and its integration with such automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Good understanding of cloud providers and experience working with cloud providers' APIs.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple and changing priorities, remaining flexible and open.
  • Ability to build and maintain coordinated working relationships with internal and external shareholders of all levels.
  • Be a self-starter and possess the confidence and skills to operate with and enjoy a high degree of autonomy.
