Department Overview

The IT On-Prem Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the organization’s on-premises infrastructure as well as its cloud-based resources. This role involves leading a team of IT professionals in maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing physical and virtual systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the IT environment.

Job Description

**Key Responsibilities**:

1. Lead and manage the on-premises and cloud operations team, providing technical expertise, guidance, and direction.

2. Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of on-premises hardware, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.

3. Manage cloud-based resources, ensuring optimal configuration, cost-efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives.

4. Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure management, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.

5. Collaborate with other IT teams, such as security, development, and application support, to ensure seamless integration and operation of all IT systems.

6. Monitor system performance, conduct regular system audits, and provide reports on the health and status of the IT infrastructure.

7. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure SLAs are met for both on-premises and cloud-based services.

8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and propose upgrades and enhancements to keep the infrastructure current and competitive.

9. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records.

10. Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

11. Provide leadership in incident and problem management, including timely resolution of issues and root cause analysis.

12. Manage budgeting and forecasting for IT infrastructure-related expenses.

13. Mentor and develop team members, setting performance goals and facilitating career growth.

Basic Requirements

**Qualifications**:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP).

A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of on-premises infrastructure technologies and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with virtualization technologies, containerization, and orchestration platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficiency in network architecture and security principles.

Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and project management methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
