Summary

The Terminal Manager will lead the Maersk/CMCA Depot Operations Business unit. Overall, responsible for the financial performance of the depot operation, in addition to the site and operational safety, productivity, labor relations and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the APM-M Safety, Environmental and Health & Wellness measures to ensure we meet our industry leading obligations to keep our people, environment, equipment and cargo free from harm. 
  • Lead the customer relations efforts in all aspects of the facilities operations, earning their trust and growing the business.
  • The position focuses on developing and scaling operations at the Maersk/CMCA site and Bayport-area facilities (including the Port of Houston and Barbour’s Cut) to achieve global operational standards.
  • Ensure employee recruitment, training, engagement and effective labor relations are a priority of the team leadership.
  • Ensure financial performance and effective fiscal responsibility are driven through the organization with focus on competitive margins, asset utilization and cost management.
  • Ensure all compliance standards and regulatory matters maintained by all company personnel.
  • Introduce and maintain a continuous improvement and risk management mindset in the operations.
  • Ensure the Facility General Manager and Regional Depot Leadership are properly informed of the facility performance through Monthly Meetings and ad hoc communications.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5 - 7 years of Port / Terminal / Trucking or Logistics knowledge and experience
  • P&L experience and strong working knowledge of the key levers of profitability
  • Understanding and experience in Labor Relations in the transportation industry
  • Transportation industry commercial business acumen and ability to engage with customers
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Safety and Risk Management mindset
  • Vendor and supplier management skills
  • Capacity for higher leadership opportunities

Pay Range:        

$95,000 - $115,000
 

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
