How you will create an impact
This is a role within the China A&H underwriting team, the candidate’s key roles & responsibilities include:
Case Underwriting:
- Manage A&H (Accident & Health) related quotations, getting involved in the end-to-end process from risk assessment / underwriting / pricing to quotations, the covered product scope are primarily Group PA, Business Travel, Critical Illness / Cancer, and Health products.
- Work with internal/external channels to achieve A&H topline/bottom line business targets.
- Collaborate with internal functions to ensure quotation TAT are met.
- Assist to manage the underwriting operational process, utilize internal/external resources to improve/optimize underwriting operational efficiencies.
- Assist to define/manage underwriting risk appetite towards A&H products within the China market.
Portfolio Management:
- Work with internal/external channels, operational functions, underwriting and Actuarial to ensure required Underwriting profit targets are achieved.
Product Development:
- Assist the product managers, technical underwriters and work with both internal functions (partnership BD, Direct To Consumer channels, branch distributions) and external functions (Agent/Broker/Reinsurers) on A&H product development opportunities.
What you will need to succeed
· Demonstrated underwriting experience preferably with a focus in Group PA/Business Travel products from either a direct insurer or broker perspective.
· Colleague degrees with underwriting/actuarial credentials a big plus.
· Prior experiences working in an insurance BD roles a plus.
· Experience working with different channels (Agent/Broker/Direct channels).
· Experience working in a fast paced and bilingual environment.
· Good presentation skills, comfortable with internal/external client presentations and frequent travels.
· Self-starter and disciplined, comfortable working in a remote environment from time-to-time.
