Project Role Description : Acts as an enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile methodologies. Coaches and mentors the Scrum Team(s), removing barriers to successful implementation and enabling a continued focus on the task at hand. Facilitates scrum and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Identifies and reports progress via appropriate metrics.

Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing plan for multiple streams within the Data Program, including platform build, data source onboarding, and data mapping. Specific responsibilities include:
1 Program Leadership Planning:
- Develop and maintain the integrated, multi-year program roadmap for the data stream in alignment with the overarching core banking transformation strategy and objectives.
- Lead planning, work breakdown, scheduling for sub-streams, including the architecture process, platform builds, data source mappings implementation.
- Collaborate with business, IT leadership to define project scopes, secure budget approvals, and establish success metrics.
2 Program Execution and Delivery Management:
- Implement and manage a robust project management framework, planning detailed project schedules, monitoring timelines, and tracking progress against key milestones using tools like JIRA, MS Project, or similar.
- Establish regular meetings and check points with Bank IT leads, vendor teams and other stakeholders to track the project progress closely.
- Orchestrate the successful delivery of projects, by actively managing and supporting the project delivery teams (vendors), ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
3 Governance, Risk, and Compliance:
- Maintain and monitor program budget and financial management processes
- Ensure vendor contracts are managed , terms are complied with.
- Manage the end-to-end SDLC process, from formal project initiation, through all stage gates, to project closure and benefits realization.
- Maintain and manage a comprehensive RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log for projects.
- Proactively identify, assess the risks, identify mitigation within team and escalating to the steering committee when necessary.
- Ensure all artifacts and deliverables required under Mizuho SDLC are delivered, approved and maintained.
4 Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Maintain active communications with key stakeholders, including the Program Steering Committee, Business, Operations, IT leaders, and external delivery partners.
- Prepare and deliver periodic status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for various audiences, from technical teams to management.
Key Deliverables
The Senior Program Manager will be accountable for delivering the following:
- Integrated Program Roadmap: A comprehensive, living roadmap detailing the timeline, major milestones, dependencies, and critical path throughout the program duration.
- Process Compliance Own the SDLC process for projects, ensuring compliance from initiation to closure.
- Resource and Financial Management: Detailed resource plans and accurate budget tracking and forecasting for the entire data program stream.
- RAID Management: Document and consistently manage the RAID log for projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
- Comprehensive Status Reporting , Program Dashboards: Regular, transparent, and data-driven reporting on program health, including progress against plan, budget variance, resource utilization, and risk status.
Qualifications and Experience
1 Required:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- 12-15+ years of experience in technology program and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex, multi-year initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Banking and Financial Services industry, with a strong understanding of its data-centric nature.
- Demonstrable experience managing large-scale data programs, such as data warehouse implementation, data platform migrations, or MDM implementations.
- Expert-level knowledge of formal SDLC and project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Experience managing program budgets.
Desired/Preferred:
- Direct experience with a core banking system transformation is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred, including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse).
- Familiarity with data governance principles and frameworks.
- PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project/program management certifications
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 15 years of experience in Program Project Management.
- This position is based at our Chennai office.
