The Role

The Business Technology Liaison (BTL), Director serves as the strategic business technology advisor for GTS - Global Technical Services, defining and guiding the alignment of technology, data, automation and business strategy to enable scalable, data-driven, and AI-powered operations that support long-term transformation.

Partnering with senior leadership across GTS - Global Technical Services, IT, and Data, the BTL shapes and executes the enterprise technology and AI roadmap, ensuring that investments and system priorities advance Pure’s strategic objectives.
This role leads the interface between business and IT—owning prioritization of technology requests, guiding execution, maintaining system integrity and data standards, and influencing governance. The BTL fosters collaboration across business functions, IT, and enterprise architecture to drive efficiency, consistency, and innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and lead the GTS - Global Technical Services technology and AI-enablement strategy, aligning initiatives and investments with enterprise objectives, architecture standards, and data governance.
  • Shape the business technology and AI roadmap, guiding trade-offs between innovation, scalability, and operational efficiency while ensuring measurable business impact.
  • Influence strategic technology and investment decisions, prioritizing initiatives that deliver sustainable value, support AI readiness, and enable long-term scalability.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to GTS - Global Technical Services and IT leadership on solution design, data modernization, governance, and AI-driven enablement strategies.
  • Build formal networks with senior leaders across business, IT, and data to drive unified technology direction and consistent decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration among business, IT, and process owners to reduce redundancy, consolidate requirements, and deliver unified, efficient, and intelligent solutions.
  • Anticipate and address emerging technology, AI, and process needs, leveraging data-driven insights and automation to shape future-state design and operational readiness.
  • Represent GTS - Global Technical Services and Pure Storage in enterprise technology and AI transformation forums, vendor discussions, and cross-company architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment to strategic goals.

What You Bring

  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in enterprise systems, strategy, digital, or AI transformation leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to influence at the executive level, shaping cross-functional priorities, governance models, and technology investment strategies.
  • Recognized as a thought leader and principal advisor in connecting business strategy with technology, data, and AI enablement.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, data governance, AI readiness, and system interdependencies across large-scale, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading transformational and AI-driven initiatives that improved scalability, efficiency, and data trust.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, SAP, Salesforce, Reltio, and Netsuite is highly desirable.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
