Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry is seeking to fill a part-time faculty position in the School of Dentistry Clinical Affairs Department with an academic appointment in Restorative Dentistry. Candidate will serve as a faculty member reporting under Clinical Affairs. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, experience in educating pre and post-doctoral programs.

Position Summary:

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Clinical Instructor Pre/Post-doctoral academia
  • Lectures/Didactic Instructions
  • Laboratory Exercise Instructions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, experience in educating pre and post-doctoral education. The applicant should have experience in working with a diverse student and patient population, working with patients of all ages, be proficient in diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Responsibilities include serving as a pre-doctoral and post-doctoral faculty member, didactic and clinical teaching, assisting with the management of the pre and post-doctoral curriculum and strategic planning activities.
  •  Additional responsibilities may include engagement in research opportunities, mentoring, and evaluation of outcomes assessment. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of evidence based therapy, current trends/ technologies and concepts used in the clinical area of instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • Credentials needed for the position include a DDS or DMD.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee or eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee.
