What will this role achieve?

As a Marketing Manager (9-Month FTC), you will set the vision and leading the agenda for Healthier Choices including the McVitie’s and Go Ahead brands, leading the brand strategy. In addition, you and your team will own the implementation, activation and execution across all touch points, working with our cross agency partners and commercial teams to build best in class growth plans, developing and delivering compelling and distinctive brand marketing programmes, and above all building marketing leading brands that people talk about! This role has 3 direct reports.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Set the strategic direction for Healthier Choices and the McVitie’s Masterbrand, shaping both annual brand plans and long‑term growth.
  • Embed consumer insight into all planning, driving a strong consumer agenda in collaboration with CMI.
  • Identify growth opportunities in key demand spaces and deliver against annual commercial targets.
  • Understand internal capabilities and challenges, addressing issues proactively to unlock opportunities.
  • Build demand‑led innovation platforms and activation plans, ensuring HFSS‑compliant commercial strategies and on‑time project delivery.
  • Act as brand guardian, delivering standout integrated marketing campaigns that drive fame, love, penetration, and category differentiation.
  • Lead strong cross‑functional and external stakeholder collaboration, including sustainability communications and UKLT influence.
  • Manage budgets, lead and develop a team of three, and guide cross‑functional teams through persuasive, relationship‑driven leadership.

Essential

  • Sound Marketing / Commercial experience within Food / FMCG required, having demonstrated the ability to manage a sophisticated portfolio and brand equity development experience
  • Has a passion for consumer centricity and developing consumer centric plans
  • A consumer champion with the ability to use consumer insight into opportunity
  • Track record of leading award winning multimedia communications
  • Strong agency management experience
  • Solid understanding of UK&I consumer and market environment
  • Capable and experienced in developing strong commercial plans with a demonstrated ability in understanding key levers to drive profitable growth and demonstrate opportunities
  • The ability to develop long term growth strategies whilst tackling short term issues

What will the interview process be?

  • Initial Telephone call with Talent Acquisition  
  • 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
  • 2nd stage interview – 90 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.

pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
